Best of Freddie Mercury's Quotes

I found it's very interesting to read Freddie Mercury's quotes. I think many of his quotes are unique and often quite hilarious as well, I can picture how he talked with humor. Also it's nice to know that Freddie surely knew the law of the universe and how it works.  This is the impression I get from reading some of his quotes.  And I really understand why he became a huge star and was successful in his career and got what he wanted in his life. Many people, including me, felt it's sad he passed away at such an early age, 45,  however in several quotes he actually said he did not want to live to be old.   and I've read that he said he did everything he wanted in his life before he passed away. I feel he was an incredibly strong person mentally. I wish that some of his actual quotes were used in the biopic movie about him - Bohemian Rhapsody.   Here are my favorite Freddie Mercury's quotes. " I'm a man of extremes, you know, I...

My review - Biopic Queen Movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" about Freddie Mercury

We went to see the movie " Bohemian Rhapsody " about the rock band Queen on November 3rd ! We were both really excited to see it since we watched many previews of the movie because the previews looked great.   and we booked the seats a few days ago. It's country side of USA here, so there were not many people in the theater on a Saturday afternoon, 2pm.  so we were feeling comfortable to watch it in not so busy place.                                Freddie Mercury in early 1970s Our review My husband and I are big fans of Queen and we really wanted to love this movie after seeing the previews and seeing all the actors' interviews about it.  It was really interesting to know how they were preparing to make the movie. We could see the actors all really worked hard to make this movie.   Pro - *...

Queen's Movie - Bohemian Rhapsody Trailer has been released !

Wow, Wow, Wow !  Finally !!  finally !!        The biopic movie about the British rock band Queen and their lead singer Freddie Mercury will be coming on November 4 !!!  ( in UK, it's October!)  We are sooooooo excited !!!                                            Freddie Mercury                                            Honestly, my husband and I almost gave up that they would ever make it because we felt like it's been forever since we first heard the news that they were working on a film about the ba...

Ben Whishaw will rock you as Freddie Mercury in upcoming movie

I've been looking forward to seeing this movie about Freddie Mercury . http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/oct/21/ben-whishaw-freddie-mercury-biopic The following is a quote from Queen guitarist, Dr.Brian May in that article, "We're very protective [of Freddie] and we're known for not hiding away from the truth. There's not going to be any pretense about this. It's going to be something very true – as true as we can make it – but also respectful to Freddie as a performer and as a man." I really love the friendship between Brian May and Roger Taylor and John Deacon to Freddie Mercury.  They are so sweet to make Freddie's movie. While many famous people are more of  "Look at me, " type , and many bands have band members who are more concerned about how much attention they themselves will get, these three decided to make a movie about Queen's biography focusing mainly on their band-mate Freddie. It's a very...

Sasha Baron Cohen's departure ? Who will play Queen's Freddie Mercury's in his biopic Movie ?

I’m a little late , but I was surprised to see this news about Sasha Baron Cohen dropped out from playing Freddie Mercury in Mercury’s biopic movie. But after almost 3 years from when it was decided Sasha Baron Cohen will act the part of Freddie Mercury,  I wonder why they got disagreement suddenly ? How much did they talk about the screenplay of the movie and about how Sasha Baron Cohen will act as Mercury ? I thought the movie was almost done and ready to show the premier this year. The news said that what led to Sasha Baron Cohen ’s departure was  “ creative differences “ It said that he wanted an R rated film, but the surviving members of Queen wanted more of a PG film that would attract a wider audience, and a more reverential depiction of Mercury and the band, rather than the direction the movie was taking with Sasha Baron Cohen. I'm on the Queen band member's side, I prefer to watch PG movie which everyone can see his life story. Also Queen’s...

Impact is everything

I had a strange dream last night. Ray and I became two of the judges out of 8 judges in a fashion event ! And there were about 10 models. I was impressed by two models’ fashions and for the rest of the models, not so memorable. It’s just a dream, however I could feel the situation of judges through it. Even if a model has good taste of fashion, if the model doesn’t make an impact to judges, the judges don’t remember him/her. Creative photos That’s how I felt in my dream. And when I woke up in the morning, I started thinking about Freddie Mercury who was saying similar things when he first met Brian May and Roger Taylor , which was something like, “ You have so much talent, but you need more impact, because without making an impact you will never succeed. “ Freddie Mercury told them this ( before Freddie and John Deacon joined the band ) when Freddie first saw Brian May and Roger Taylor live in concert with their earlier band called Smile. Freddie was a...

Balance between art for art's sake and art for an audience

English Rock Group member Queen ’s guitarist & sometimes vocalist Brian May made an interesting quote and observation in his website a few days ago. My husband is a long time fan of Queen and their music and he has been reading Brian May’s blog in his website and told me about it. Here's Brian May's quote . " One needs to find a balance between art for art's sake and art for an audience. That's where the magic happens. Because if you stray too far from that line on either side, the result is not very useful. If you're doing things purely to get famous or to make money, they tend to be very empty. But on the other side of the line is, if you do things purely for art's sake and nobody ever gets to see them or appreciate them, then you're not using your art as communication — which I believe it should be. " This is an interesting point of view about success and Brian May is a member of one of the top legendary rock groups, ...
