Evgeni Plushenko
He is my second favorite skater. I'm not crazy about his skate and I think Johnny Weir is more talented as a skater except quads jumps.
But I like his cool personality. He never boast his high scores after the competition.
He is always very calm as if he is not the winner, nothing was happened. It reminds me legend of Nadia Comaneci who got perfect 10 scores 7 times in 1976 Olympic gymnastic.
It was very interesting to watch Plushenko's interview after finished his short program in Olympic 2006.
Plushenko got score more than 90 in SP and the interviewer was asking about his short program performance , and Plushenko said
" I don't want to talk about it right now because it's just finished short program and the competition has not finished yet. "
But the interviewer continued asking about " what messages do you want to give to Russian people now ?" and he looked really annoying for the interviewer and said
" It's just heavy, too much pressures."
with his hand showing like " go away " to the interviewer.
It was SO funny, his reaction and answer was very direct and no other skaters were doing like him.
Maybe his success from all the competitions might come from this strong protection.
Most of them were enjoy, excited talking about their feeling and performance when they got high scores, and then most of them couldn't get good scores in the free program.
I wish Johnny won't talk too much to interviewers after finished his short program. Johnny's idol skater is Plushenko, and he knows Plushenko is a really strong fighter for the competition.
I checked Plushenko's skating bio and I was really amazed when I saw it.
His lowest position was 4th and most of the competitions were in the 1st and several 2nd places.
How is he controling his mind from such a big pressure ?
But I think it is very smart not to say anything during the process because whatever we say or think is a kind of energy and it influences our future. Without Johnny Weir, we would not watch men's figure skating.
But we realized that there are also very fun to watch other skaters
Stephan Lambiel
Evgeni Plushenko
Brian Joubert
Daisuke Takahashi
Jeffrey Buttle
Evan Lysacek
When my husband and I watched this Olympic 2006 figure skating, we didn't notice other skater's good ponts because Johnny's impression was too big for us .
