" Exceeding your personal best. "
I love this quote. I found this quote in one of my favorite book " Attractor factor " by Joe Vitale.
I've just sent this message to my favorite skater Johnny Weir.
He will compete in Cup of Russia on November 23, 24.
Johnny lost his mind-set at Skate Canada and finished at third place.
Since my second favorite skater Stephane Lambiel ( from Switzerland ) made big mistake at his SP, and ranked at 7th place, and Johnny got 2nd position at his SP, he could win the competition.
However, Johnny said, since he knew he could win this competition, he felt confidence after the SP and before the FP.
Once his FP started, and he made mistake at his first jump which was suppose to be combination jumps ( 3-3 ). Then his quad became triple jump and he made another mistake at spin, and to fix and replace the mistakes , he made more mistakes.
His art was great, the theme of the program is about Jesus . and he got high component score but got only 50 in his technical score that was the lowest he had ever done since 2004.
This finished with Stephane's unbelievable came back at FP.
He won it.
I just think if he would just focus on " exceeding his personal best and didn't focus on win and medal " he might get different result.
Stephane was saying , after finished SP, he gave up to get medal because he thought it's impossible to get to the podium from there ( 7th ).
The top two, Takahashi and Johnny made many mistakes at FP and they both down to second and third places.
It was like a comedy.
Because that's one of the law of success.
Very successful Russian figure skater " Evgeny Plushenko " knew this key.
Plushenko always won, and he got all the title.
I'm not so big fan of Johnny's new skating style, but I'm a big fan of him so I want to keep support him no matter what.
His charisma is too strong !
Good Luck Johnny.
