COI San Jose review

My husband and I went to COI San Jose on May 18, Friday.

It was our second time to go to see skating live show. Our seat was Row 7 at close to the center of the circle rink.

Last time when we went to COI Phoenix , our seat was second row but at the edge of the circle rink, so even this was row 7, I thought this seat was better and more clear to see all the skaters performance.

The show started around 7:45PM and in the opening Johnny appeared at fifth or six.
Johnny looked like he got a lot of sun tan at Mexico and his hair style was all back.

I think he did triple jump but not sure, I don’t remember clearly.

Johnny’s all in love is fair was really perfect ! His movements were deep and elegant and smooth and gorgeous. He landed all his triple jumps beautifully. I really loved it.

He looked confidence.

Especially I loved beginning of the movements of the program. I also felt his skating level is so much higher than any other men’s skaters because of his polished movements even though I already know that .

Also, his Fallen Angels !

Music volume sounded little bit low, they should have turned it up a lot louder I thought if the music was louder it was more impressive. But performance was wonderful !

Johnny, Melissa and Dennis skated perfectly in every movements. It was really gorgeous !

Johnny looked like he really comfortable skating with them.
I often screamed whenever Johnny did something special .

Audience around us looked like there are no Johnny fans so whenever I screamed they were looking at me.

And we brought a large banner sign with the words “ Johnny Weir, We love you “ which we made last COI last year.

The finale was a lot of fun. Johnny was acting part of middle East Turkish raja with three or four harem girls and was wearing a coat dress and turban.

He looked like he was teasing Evan, and trying to make him upset, and his face and the reaction was so hilarious .

And fight scene was also funny.

I thought It was more serious and I might get upset but it was not. He looked like he was enjoy doing it.

And at the end of the finale show, when he came by our row, he noticed my large sign and my waving, and he was smiling and waving and blew me a kiss.

It was nice ! I was already satisfied because he noticed I was there even though he doesn’t know who I am.
Other impressive skaters for me were Shizuka Arakawa and Sasha Cohen.

Shizuka skated with long light blue color cloth and it was very elegant. And did ina bauer. I also love her spins.

She was very gorgeous.

She popped up from one of her jumps but choreography was so great, so it didn’t matter.

Sasha ’s new number “ Hurt “ was also gorgeous. She fell from one of her jump but it often happened so it didn’t bother me and her movements and spiral could cover for it. I think she doesn’t need jumps, I can enjoy her skating without jumps.

Who else ? Oh, yeah, Irina Grigorian who skated with many rings was great !

Kimmie was better than I expected. She is better than watching on TV. Especially her choreography. Seemed like there were several strong Kimmie fans were calling her name. Ryan Bradley ’s movements and jumps looked heavy and not smooth. And I thought same for other men’s skaters , except Johnny. Rudy was good, but I’m not so crazy about his skating. He got many clapping from the audience.

Plushenko, He skated with his new number “ Prisoner “. I thought this program music and theme was not so good and impressive.

Also his costume. His jumps were all double, I was wondering what happened to him.

His movements looked heavy, too. But he did have energy. I thought he was much better last year.

Evan, his first jump was double but he did triple- triple combination twice and his dancing was powerful.

But I always imagine if it was Sandhu, he will do much more impressive magical dancing.

But for Evan , I thought this kind of dancing program is more fit than dramatic theme. His jumps looked very strong. That what I thought even though I’m not his fan of his skating. Over all it was good.

They were also good. very fun to watch. Great entertainers.

After the show, we asked to some of security guards if we could give our gift we prepared for Johnny, but guards were very strict and said no one can give any gifts to skaters.

But one of the kind guards told us we could go to the security area and they will pass it to the skaters. and gave us directions where to go.

When we arrived there, it was a gate area and a bus. we didn't know that's the skater's bus.

And there was one couple who looks like from South America and when we asked to the guard who was inside of the gate, if he can give our gift to Johnny, he said skater’s bus is over there, so some skaters may come off .

And the lady of the couple also told us, you can just call skater’s name from here.

Then three ladies also came to the place and found out that all of us were Johnny fans .

It was amazing, only Johnny fans were waiting for him at the gate even though during the show Johnny didn’t look the most popular skater.

And finally we started calling his name loudly , showing his banners , Johnny came off the bus and walked to the gate where we all were.

Johnny already knew three of the Johnny fans ( Johnny’s angels ) and he was hugging through the gate to three of them. I was frozen, ha ha.

I was just seeing him talking with them Because he was much more gorgeous than I expected.

Especially his proportion !

My mind was still I was in the seat at the show. I was still an audience.
Me and my husband were still new and he doesn’t know who we are. Beside we were quiet.

Then I saw one of his fan started taking picture of him through the gate , so I also prepared, then Johnny suddenly posed for my camera, he was very sweet.

He gave me an autograph on a picture of him we prepared .

While he was signing , my husband told him “ Her name is Miho “ , and Johnny said “ Oh, Miho !”

I still don’t know the meaning of his reaction because he didn‘t explain about it. Then my husband started teasing me “ She writes to you all the time.

“ Not all the time, but several times. But Johnny said “ one of my email account had a trouble so I might not see all the emails.

“ Then suddenly my husband said “ Fallen Angels is the best ! “ to him, while he was signing, and he stopped his signing one second and said “ thank you “ .

Johnny’s reaction was very funny, because my husband had suddenly changed the topic, then finally I gave him our gift.

But the gate bar was narrow and not wide enough for the gift. Then I started pushing the gift , and Johnny quickly found the way and got it over the gate bar. with sense of humor.

I don’t remember his reaction but my husband said he looked excited to get my gift.

I was already satisfied because I never expected to meet Johnny in close distance.

The show was great, and I met Johnny and got his autograph and his picture.
Overall it was really a great trip.

Sweet Food which does not get fat - Warabi mochi

I recently love eating this sweet food that Japanese call " Warabi mochi " which is made of 0 calories food psyllium in my coffee break time. It's sweet food but I use Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener instead of sugar when I make it. Lakanto Monk Fruit sweetener is 0 calorie s and 0 glycemic and very similar taste as normal sugar. It is said it's derived from monk fruit, which looks like a small green gourd native to regions of China and Thailand. It's not artificial so it is not bad for health so I feel comfortable eating it.
