I’m so glad Johnny wrote a message to his fans in his official site !
As usual he is soooo sweet and heartfelt, and always write in his own voice, so quickly when his fans needed.
That is one of the reason why he is so loved by many of his fans world wide.
Johnny Weir - Dear My fans
( Johnny Wrote )
Title: Thank you
My dear fans,
I want to thank you all for your support in this rough, rough time. I also want to thank all of you who supported me both in Cleveland and in front of the TV set around the World.
I want to say a special thank you to the fans who brought my banners not only from Johnny's Angels America, but also from Japan and Russia as well as those of you who were involved in sending the balloons and teddy bear to my ice rink. It was such a honor to skate in such a loving environment.
(My comments)
It's so lovely and classy, he never forgot to appreciate to his fans.
(Johnny's words )
I want to apologize for the way I performed in Cleveland. I know so many of you who read this website wanted to see me at my best and win another National title as much as I did personally and I let all of us down.
(My comments )
Johnny doesn't need to apologize, he did his best he could and fought through his bad condition.
(Johnny's words)
Many people have criticized my decision to perform in the Christmas show in Seoul, and I can understand their criticism but I do not accept it.
It was my choice to perform, and had I not gotten sick, I would have been 100% for Nationals. I am not exempt from getting a stomach virus or the flu, just like the rest of you.
I can not control when I am sick and when I am healthy. Life is random and I hope everyone can understand that.
I also hope people will stop blaming a show on my Nationals performance.
It was an honor to be invited to the show in Korea and I was so happy to lend my time.
The only thing that I am blaming my performance on, is not being healthy which is not an excuse, it is the truth. I can assure everyone that I tried my best to be prepared.
(My comments)
This his message is for his fans, so I hope anyone who is not his fan won’t bother him.
It must be very frustrated to read all the comments which are not understanding his feeling and situation and his fact which only he knows.
People will say whatever they want to think based on their belief , they will pick up even small thing to criticize.
It looks to me that‘s their hobby and the way of their stress relief. And it’s out of control.
There is no value to read all the nasty comments and articles and since the Nationals, I just shut out from all the negativities from non-fans.
So I don’t know much what kind of comments he has received, but even between his fans, I’m so sensitive about Johnny.
I hope Johnny won’t read those comments which makes him feel bad.
Johnny was sick, that’s the fact. It was not just his mental problem.
Who knows the fact ?
Johnny.
It was clear he looked sick to me.
It’s true that life is random.
When I went to Disney worlds, I got chicken pox. When I went to Italy, I got skin allergy.
I would explain what happened, but I would never regret for going there because I had a wonderful time there, besides I didn’t expect to get chicken pox there before I went to Disney worlds.
For Johnny’s case, I have complicated feeling for this.
I understand that when he decided to attend the ice show, he was fine, and he thought it’s important for him whether it might be a tough schedule or not and he was not expected to get illness over there.
But during the trip for GPS, he had some health problems plus he was already exhausted after came back to NJ from the trip.
When I heard that he got illness in Korea before Nationals, I wished he should not go at that time.
But now, I understand that it’s not so easy to cancel the show once he promised to attend the show whether he was exhausted or not, and thinking about people who are looking forward to seeing him.
Also he wanted to help them. It was important for him.
I think this kind of thing often happened in life for everyone . Things don’t always go well as they expected.
Attending the Korean show was important for him and also he had a wonderful time there even though he had heath problem.
He is not saying that Nationals is not important for him, and Nationals is one of the most important competition for him, but he thought he could handle the schedule but it didn’t go well.
Actually, I’m glad he didn’t say anything like that “ I’m regret to go to Korean ice show. “How Korean people would feel if he said such a thing ?
And he is honest, so I have no doubt he is telling his true feeling whether people take it different way or not.
Not only his sweetness for his Korean fans, but it was his true feeling.
I could see he looked very happy surrounded by his Korean fans in the photos , and was treated like a rock star.
I don’t think he regret about it.
Well, I don’t regret I went to Disney worlds, even I got chicken pox over there. LOL.
I also understand about his fans feeling, too. Since hearing some of his fans bought Worlds tickets to see him. Some people bought the tickets only to see him and I feel bad for them.
But many other skaters also had this kind of problem, too.
Look at Lambiel, he had been attending many ice shows, then what happened past two seasons since winning worlds in 2006 ?
In 2008, after Euro, I’ve heard that Lambiel went to ice show while Joubert went straight back to France.
But I suppose that Lambiel had a reason to attend the show, and then what happened later was that he lost medal in worlds 2008.
And some people criticized about it.
Joubert was not expecting to get back injury during the practice after SP in GPF and withdrew from it. Some people criticized him, saying that he makes too many excuse.
Daisuke was not expecting to get his foot injury before NHK and withdrew from all the competitions.
Life is random.
I agree with Johnny.
Hope he will get better soon. I will always love his skating and him no matter what.
It’s not so easy to find a great artist like Johnny to me.
He is a treasure.
Maybe because originally I’m not a skating fan, I’m a fan of great artists for any kind of subjects. Johnny is a great artist. So, without him, figure skating is so boring to me.
(Johnny's words)
I want to publicly congratulate the medalists from our National Championships and the World team.
I hope the United States men can achieve their best results in our home country. I also hope they can manage to win three spots for the Olympic Games, as I helped achieve last year for this World Championship. It is an honor to compete with such a talented group of skaters.
(My comments)
Very classy comments to his competitors.I hope they will manage to win three spots for the Olympics, too. It's very important.
Johnny must have really pressure to compete last season no matter what he said about the spots since Lysacek withdrew from it. So he is naturally commenting about his experience.
(Johnny's words)
Thank you all so much. I hope you don't lose faith in me, and I hope I can excite you all with my performances in the off-season as well as next season when we all compete with a blank slate in hopes of becoming Olympic Champion. Thank you, Spasibo, Kamsa-hamnida, Arigato, Grazie, Merci and Danke!
(My comments)
I will never lose faith in you.
Come back stronger next season, Johnny !!
You are a fighter !
