Finally Johnny made an announcement about not competing this season ( 2010-2011).
Here are some articles about it.

I would be surprised if he said he will compete this season.
He made this statement in Japan. There was also a video he talked about his taking time off this season. But somehow it disappeared and can not see it anymore.
Here is his statement below,

“ My dearest fans,
I would like to officially announce that I am withdrawing my name from the 2010-2011 competitive season. My decision comes after months of weighing the pros and cons of competing this season, and I have decided that I need a year to explore and reinvent myself as an athlete and artist.
There are many projects that I'm currently working on and that I want to devote my time to, including my single, "Dirty Love," my fashion line, "Be Unique," and my quarter-century memoirs to be published with Gallery Books.
I'm also working on the second season of my hit reality TV series, and of course skating in shows around the world and producing my own skating spectacular.
I want to thank so many people: My mom, Patti; my coaches, Galina Yakovlevna Zmievskaya, Viktor Vassilievich Petrenko, and Nina Leonidovna Petrenko; my choreographer, David Wilson; my agent, Tara Modlin, and Fireworks Sports Marketing; and my friends, family, and most of all my fans. I skated for my fans this season, and I was able to skate because of them.
They gave me inspiration every day in practice and helped in so many ways to get me back to the Olympics for the second time. I am forever in your debt.
The main reason for my decision is to have more time to reinvent my skating.
I want to create a new skating image for myself so that when I return to competitive skating, I can perform in a way that is both unique and inspiring. I say all of this in hopes that I will return as a competitor for the 2011-2012 season.
At twenty-six years old, I have been competing at the highest level of the sport since 2000. Training and competing have been my only way of life for the past thirteen years.
While it has been a magical journey, I feel that a brief hiatus will be truly beneficial to my skating and my future.
Although I'm taking a break from competitive skating, I still hope to be on the ice as often as possible, training and performing for my many fans around the world. I have even selected music for my next competitive programs and am already dreaming up costumes.
While my eyes are currently focused on many different projects, my brain will never forget about the Sochi Olympics in 2014. It would be a dream for me to compete in an Olympic Games in Russia, and I think one thing my fans know about me is that I don't give up on a dream easily.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me. I hope to be performing for you very soon.
I believe this is the right step for me to make in my career at this time, and I am very proud of everything I have accomplished so far in my life as a figure skater.

He has been busy doing many other projects after Vancouver Olympics.
Whether he will come back to competition or not , both ways is fine with me and my husband and it’s not important for us.
Because he is already a legendary skater in our mind which is not judged by the point system and numbers.
Creative people have their original things. Johnny often created his EX numbers by himself within a very short time. Besides his costume design.
The latest number is his “ heartbroken”.
Love his sensitive, perfect beautiful movements and lines, how he uses his fingertips, arms, body, legs, faces, neck, shoulders. His natural expression. Deep emotion. Connection to the music. Nothing casual.
That’s who I call as a true Artist.
Also when I was watching “ Skating for the Heart show “ which was held in September ' 2009, his creativity showed up even more clearly, when he was skating with a live singer “Jordin Sparks “ .
While other US men’s skaters skated like based on a point system, just jumping around several times or spinning around with no other imaginative choreographies and expression , Johnny’s performance was completely with the song, with deep emotion, it was very story-telling and the choreography which he most likely created within a very short time made an illusion, dream world, plus showing love to the singer while skating.
It was really amazing.
In his PSOI ( episode #1) , he said being Olympics champion is his dream but more than that keep on skating is more important.
As I might already have said many times in my past posts, I’m more excited if he could make his own unique ice show, if possible, hope he will start his own ice show tour in the future.
Nationals competition has been the most stressful moments every year since I found Johnny, so I’m glad I can take a break this season. Honestly.
I think USFSA will always try to push other skaters to win over Johnny in Nationals. I got the impression since 2007 Nationals, and in 2008, it became clear even more.
My guess is Adam Rippon will be the next selected skater, unless he bumped it by himself.
Many Johnny fans also love him and his skating , so he has good popularity after Johnny & Evan and will get good ratings in media, they may put spotlight to him.
Personally, I will also take a break from watching skating competition while Johnny is off.
And completely focus on my things I need to do.
Actually I was on the way direct to my goal, until happened to watch Johnny on TV at Torino Olympics 2006, and since I saw Johnny’s skating and his artistry, my mind went to different direction, not completely but more than half mind went to Johnny Weir.
That was the problem. Lol. Just kidding.
However I also have my dream. And I live my life.
I prefer to live my life than watching what someone else is doing.
For motivation, I love to see many people who inspires me. Plus I love to see artistic movements and expression, emotional connection to music.
Because I had been taking these dance classes for fun in the past, so I love to see good dancers and artists for learning and get inspirations.
That’s why I sometimes watched some Olympics game. (mainly, figure skating and gymnastics which used to have more artistry , when I had time. And also running. )
Johnny Weir was hard to ignore as an artist, as an athlete, as a person. I have never got such an addiction. He is dangerous. lol
But I don’t choose to live in the sports fans world. It’s not my goal.
Johnny has his idols as well , such as Lady Ga ga and Christina Aguilera.
But he also lives his life. That’s ideal. I love it.
Although I love to see passionate Johnny Weir fans ( Johnny’s kittens ) who support him. They make me feel good and I enjoy his popularity.
I feel happy and feel good when he looks happy and enjoying his life, there is no negative feeling.
I will always support him from far away in my free time. Will buy his new single “ Dirty Love”. Will watch his new numbers. Will read his interviews and will see photos.
Now Johnny is in Niigata, Japan for fantasy on ice show.
He seems really having fun there. It’s a shame the show will not be shown on TV and also no one can take photos or video in all the Japanese ice shows, because of the rules. Since my most interesting photos of him is his skating photos, I hope some professional photographers who have permission to take the photos will catch good ones.
All the best to Johnny !
