My review - Johnny Weir’s new ice show number “ Meditation “ from Thais by Jules Massenet

Johnny Weir’s new ice show number “ Meditation “ from Thais by Jules Massenet at Ice Theater of New York , Gala at Chelse Pies on October 24' 2011

Johnny has so many wonderful magical performances which hit my heart and this new number is another great one ! One of the reasons I really love this number is the music ! I would like to thank Johnny for selecting this music for his new number. Secretly, I was making a list of music which I wish Johnny and some other skaters would skate with and Massenet’s Meditation was one of them for Johnny and it‘s one of my favorite music ! So when I heard that his new number’s music is “ Meditation “ , in the beginning I was not sure if it’s by Massenet’s “ Meditation from “ Thais” ? or some other music by other composers. I’m really happy to watch the performance in youtube. Needless to say the awesomeness of his usual artistic natural beautiful movements , and I love the choreography. http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20111026&content_id=25797614&vkey=ice_news According to the ice network article above, he choreographed himself. Within a very short time, he did really great and I love it. I felt this music is similar to Saint Saen’s The Swan when I first time listened to it. ( I love both of them, but maybe I love Meditation from “ Thais” more than The Swan. ) We can see he loves to often change his costumes and his looks.

I also would love to see him to change the choreography style, from different choreographer. He can also create another version of this number.

For this music , I can imagine many stories.

It’s so beautiful world. I’m sure Johnny can, as well.

I was thinking about if Johnny would skate with Tom Dickson’s choreography someday. Because I was impressed with many of Tom Dickson’s choreographies in the past. Johnny can get different idea by working with someone he has never worked with.

Just my thought. Only thing is I feel there must be some costumes that fit better with this program and the music.

Maybe he is planning to have a new costume for this new number ? What comes my mind for this number is the costume from his Trio number Fallen Angels costume.

Also the black swan costume which he skated in the finale Skating with the Stars show. He didn’t wear both of these costumes much but I really loved them. It would be great if he wears these costumes again.

Johnny’s costumes, Am I the only one who feel his costume taste started changing since last Olympics ? I actually loved almost all his costumes until Vancouver Olympics. After Vancouver Olympics, I love Bad Romance costumes with gold and black , and also his Skating with the Stars finale’s costume, the (black swan ?, it also looked like a sexy vampire ). Sweet Food which does not get fat - Warabi mochi

I recently love eating this sweet food that Japanese call " Warabi mochi " which is made of 0 calories food psyllium in my coffee break time. It's sweet food but I use Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener instead of sugar when I make it. Lakanto Monk Fruit sweetener is 0 calorie s and 0 glycemic and very similar taste as normal sugar. It is said it's derived from monk fruit, which looks like a small green gourd native to regions of China and Thailand. It's not artificial so it is not bad for health so I feel comfortable eating it.
