Friday, November 6 was my husband's birthday, so I made a cake and Tempura!
We were having cozy happy birthday party at home, just relaxing , eating, chatting, drinking, listening to our favorite music, dancing and watching a new movie.
Last year was chocolate cake, so this year I made whipped cream spicy taste with strawberry decoration cake.
I'm really not good at making decorations, but fortunately the taste was successful, heavenly yummy!!!
Ray said he loves this one as much as the chocolate cake, and it became one of his favorite cakes now.
We both love chocolate taste sweets , especially Ray was eating many chocolate bars every day until he got health problem.
Ray had kidney problems last June this year, and since then he has been avoiding the foods which have high Oxalate content, such as chocolate, cocoa, dry powder, peanut butter, Bran flakes, crackers, soybeans, tofu, spinach, and black pepper.
Because a doctor told him that eating these high oxalate foods many times can make kidney stones , unless one has a habit to drink a lot of mineral water.
So I'm also avoiding to make chocolate cake now and needed to replace it with something.
But this cake fulfilled me and my husband's stomach and feeling.
For the whipped cream, I put 500ml for heavy whip cream, and 60g for organic sugar and one small spoon for vanilla essence.
Sugar 50g may be my best suit my taste, but he loves sweeter so I put 60g.
Because it was so delicious, and I was not satisfied with my decoration, so I will challenge to make it for Christmas again.
I've read about that cooking improves our brain power because it requires to use both of our brain functions, right and left.
Especially making decoration cake is great way to improve our both sides of brain function.
We do not often eat this kind of cake, only in the special days such as birthday, Thanksgiving day, Christmas, New Year's day.
Until I came to USA, I rarely ate cake and didn't have habit to eat it.
Tempura is one of our favorite foods. It's a Japanese food, which has fried vegetables and seafood, but for my tempura, I include turkey ( or chicken ) and instead of sweet potato, I use potato.
For drink,
This year we drank Peroni beer ( made in Italy ) instead of wine and champagne, from just our feeling.
For Movie ,
We watched the movie " About time " which was released in 2013.
It was an interesting story and was quite enjoyable.
It's a British romantic comedy-drama film about a young man with the special ability to time travel, who tries to change his past in order to improve his future.
The film was written and directed by Richard Curtis, and stars Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy.

The young man repeatedly came back to the past to re-do his life whenever he made mistakes in a day, to try and fix the issue.
Some parts made us laugh a lot, I love this kind of romantic comedy.
Also there is an important message through it.
After the young man had time traveled to his past many times, he came to realize how important to live in the moment , fully, with love and kindness as if each moment is the last.
Treasure every moment.
And he almost completely stopped time travel.
Living in the moment.
Enjoying the moment.
It was a very beautiful day !
