My husband's computer had a problem recently.
He is using Lenovo laptop and it's only three years old.
It was really weird, because it was running fine without any issues until then.
and there was a lot of space in hard drive.
But suddenly , it was running slow, so he pushed power button to restart it.
Then he could not get to the main screen and always reached to the automatic repair with blue background color page where there is message shows
" Your PC did not start correctly "
and there are two buttons
" restart " and " Advanced options " .
When we chose " restart ", it came back to the auto repair page again.
and when we chose " advanced options ",
message showed " choose an option " for
" Continue " , " Troubleshoot " , " Turn off your pc " .
So we chose " Troubleshoot " .
and then in the " Troubleshoot " page, there was another two options
" Reset this PC "
and
" Advanced options ".
So we chose " Reset this PC ".
and it started processing to reset.
However, it showed they were unable to reset the PC.
We tried it again, but it was repeating.
So we chose
" Advanced options " .
and in the " advanced options " page, there are many options which are
" System Restore " , " System Image", " Start up repair ",
"Command Prompt" , " Start up setting" ,
" Go back to the previous build ".
So we tried " System Restore " .
and then selected the restore date of 5 days ago .
It took about 6 to 8 hours to complete.
But it worked and came back to start running windows 10 again for a while.
However 2 days later, suddenly when my husband started running the PC in the morning ,
again
" the PC didn't run correctly" message appeared and stuck at the " auto repair " page.
So we tried to restore it again, but it did not work this time.
Reset also did not work.
Some information said in the troubleshooting page, select the option
" Command Prompt "
and type special words in the screen.
but there is a warning message shows
" your PC doesn't have enough memory " .
So we were unable to do it.
and after that while I was trying many ways, suddenly 'it started to not boot anymore.
We could not even get to the auto repair page at all.
and showing the error number 0xc 0000185 .
Looked like the hard drive was damaged so we had to bring it to the computer repair store.
In the past , about 5 years ago for my old computer, we tried Best Buy Geek service which cost hourly price.
The PC repair man was nice and helpful however he was unable to fix the problem so they did not charge us.
This time we found " Tucson Computer Repair service " which has a lot of positive reviews in Yelp website and decided to go there.
http://www.tucsoncomputerrepairservice.com/
It's located in the center of downtown area.
When we went there, my husband told the owner of the repair store , Chris, what happened.
My husband did not use much for files and video and software and there was lot of empty space but there was several software he often used and also some files and wished to keep them if possible.
We filled out the form for the agreement statement there and handed the PC to him.
Next day , Chris called us and told that the hard drive is badly damaged and could not find any files.
So he is going to replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows 10. The price will be $225 including the tax.
And it will be ready in the next day after 3pm.
I've read about that the usual charge for replacing a hard drive is roughly $300 .
Plus the hard drive fee and installing windows 10 fee, so I suppose the normal price for it in other stores would cost over $400.
In the next day, Chris called us around 3Pm, and the PC was repaired .
So we drove there to pick up our PC.
Chris explained to my husband what he did, he put in a new hard drive which has 1TB!
Our original hard drive was 500GB, so it's double size !
I've read about that repair store charge replacing the hard drive is based on the size of hard drive as well.
and also he installed a new windows 10 plus some software of internet browsers.
He also gave us our old hard drive, because sometimes it can happen to be able to find the files in the old hard drive after passed some time .
We can get a USB hard drive adapter to connect the PC and the old hard drive.
My husband didn't kept much important files, but just some software he often used were there, so we will try after a month later.
My husband said the PC is running very well and super fast now.
So our reviews of " Tucson Computer Repair service " is
5 stars !
* Fast - He fixed it within 2 days. We thought it may take about 10 days.
* Reasonable price - We suppose it's much lower than normal repair price
* Helpful - When we sent an email to ask a question, he responded us immediately.
Also contacted to us in the next day for the explanation of the problems and repair price.
and in the next day also called saying the PC is ready. Great communication.
* Offered much larger hard drive.
We highly recommend this PC repair store in Tucson and will be back if we PC problem again.
Thank you so much for your wonderful job !
