When I got on a scale this morning, I was really shocked to see my weight . 51kg !!! It's about 119.5lb !!!
It's too much !
My height is 5' 3 , so this weight sounds normal but I prefer to keep my weight less than average weight.
I guess I didn't measure my weight since Christmas and during the time I gain about 4.84lb !
Soon I went to the gym in our apartment subdivision and walked about 30 minutes using walking machine. I was exhausted after finished it.
My body was already spoiled from the US lazy habit.
Walking about 1 hour was normal life habit when I was in Japan even though I didn't have to go to the gym because everyone use train for transportation and we needed to walk to get to the station , and also people are walking around everywhere.
Beside, I was learning jazz dance twice a week.
I decided to lose weight 5 lb within 2 months and always keep that weight.
This is one of my New Year resolution.
My husband lost weight over 50lb since we got together 5 years ago.
He didn't do anything special to lose weight.
He was just eating my cooking. Ha ha..
My main menu is usually Japanese foods, or Chinese foods.
Japanese rice and miso soup, and main dish and salad.
Ray can not eat Japanese traditional foods that most of grown ups love to eat, but he loves the foods which Japanese kids also really loves.
Anyway , I have successful experience to lose weight for myself and also for my husband so it's not so difficult for me.
Here are some things I always use for my weight loss program.
1. Eat more protein foods and vegetables instead of carbohydrate and grain such as rice, bread, noodle and potatoes. ( 3 protein : 6 vegetables : 1 carbohydrate & grain)
2. Eat fish, tofu, turkey and Chicken instead of beef, pork
3. Eat variety of vegetables ( colorful vegetables ) such as broccoli, asparagus, green onions, celery, leeks, spinach, carrot, mushroom, onion, green leaf, tomato,
4. Use simple source ( salt and pepper, soy source & milin & sake, no ketchup and heavy cream, ) For salad, salt & lemon or simple Italian dressing.
5. drink water or non sugar drink, no soda , no juice
No sugar & alcohol during the time .

I always love to use salt and lemon for salad, and since I enjoyed this way, I can not eat normal dressing because I felt it's too oily.
Vegetable soup is a great healthy diet meal beside that makes us feel full and satisfy and no hungry feeling.
