Today, I would like to
talk about the importance of the right
hemisphere of the brain and subconscious
mind.
It’s said that people
who are called as geniuses are people who could connect to their subconscious
minds.
Music
I realized that for
example Pyotr Tchaikovsky, who is known as one of the legendary genius
music composers in the world.
Every morning, at 9 am he said he had an appointment ( with
his subconscious mind ? ) or (with his spirit guide ? ) who he called as “ Mesdames Les Muses “ .
Here is his exact
quote below,
- "I sit down to the piano regularly
at nine-o'clock in the morning and Mesdames les Muses have learned to be on
time for that rendezvous." - Tchaikovsky
" Mesdames Les Muses " was sending music ideas and sounds to
Tchaikovsky, so he could compose his perfectly awesome music effortlessly.
Frederik Chopin, Mozart, and also Camille Saint Saens were all able to connect to their subconscious
mind ( or to their spirit guide ? ).
I suppose they were
more close to spiritual worlds and their right hemisphere brains were really
developed.
Many music composers
can hear the sound of music through their subconscious mind.
There are people who
were born that way, like Chopin, and
Tchaikovsky but also there are
people who got that ability after they spent much time and effort trying to
make music.
My favorite Japanese
musician, called Toshihiko Takamizawa
said he can hear like a gong type of bell sound first when he gets a music
idea.
Sometimes it happens when he was
on a stage for concert, sometimes it happened while seeing a painting in an art
museum in Europe.
But he said it was not
always that way for him, when he first started he had no idea how to do it, the
first time he challenged to compose music in his room.
All he had was a burning
desire and passion to make his original music using a music instrument.
So in his case, after a long time of
challenging and making many music, he could access to his subconscious mind.
I suppose it means,
anyone can access to one’s subconscious mind if learn the key to access our
subconscious mind, if we have strong passion for doing what we love.
Childlike, Inoccence & Curiosity
Actually, all babies are still close to the spiritual
world and from the time when we were born, up through early childhood, we were feeling
rather than thinking and our right brains were working stronger than our left
brain.
Miracles don’t happen
with theory, which is based on “ common
sense “ .
Miracles happen with one’s strong
emotion.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is well known to have had a childlike
attitude, and his wife was quoted saying he was not practical.
Sounded like he
really was a right brain person.
I noticed that people
who are more right brain hemisphere developed ( or kept on developing their
right brain since their childhoods ) are more easy to connect to their
subconscious mind.
Memories
For an actress,
I’ve heard that one of
the famous Japanese actresses memorized all the scripts for acting, just by reading
the script book for the movie, on the way to the theater back stage.
Incredible concentration.
She is known as a
genius actress.
From my personal life,
There was a student
who always got top scores without doing hard work study . All she did was just
reading a thick text book in the train, on the way to school on the examination
date.
Her focus was
unbelievable.
There is also another
story from my friend.
My friend , who now
already works as a nurse, told me a very interesting story about one of her
classmates when she was still studying in the nursing school.
Getting a nursing
degree is not easy.
And my friend is a
very hard worker, she studies hard, taking a lot of time for study preparation
for the examination, cutting her
sleeping time, and she was getting more and more gray hair every examination,
whenever they got to the next level at school.
On the other hand, her
class mate who has two jobs besides the nursing school, she was always almost
like napping during the class, because of her busy work schedule.
She wasn’t studying for the examination
until the date of the examination, on the way to the school, in the train.
And she was always the
top score in all the grades of the school.
And my friend who
really worked hard got second place, after her.
And my friend was not satisfied when she
compared herself with her class mate. And she wanted to know why ?
I just thought she
must be a genius, so I told my friend no need to compare with her class mate.
My friend’s husband described the situation
like this, if my friend ( his wife ) is on a bicycle, her class mate is on a
motorcycle.
And one more thing, I
was interested in about her class mate was
while my friend and her other class mates were all worry about the
result of the examination, her class
mate was always, “hmm , I guess everything is alright. “ , sounded always
optimistic.
My friend said she has
never seen her worried about the result.
At that time when I
heard that story from my friend, I
wasn't sure why, just thought “ She
sounds too cool . ”
And later, when I told
about it to my husband, he said she was studying using her right brain, he said she may have photographic
memory, picturing all the pages of what was written in the text book.
My husband Ray seems to
have had that ability to have photographic memory until when he was 7 years old.
When he was 6 years
old he could picture the first grade textbook page , each page of the text book,
and so in the examination, he was not studying anything, and not even
remembering what was in the book, but suddenly the picture of the page in the book came in
his mind and he could read what was in
the page through his mind, and got perfect score for it. Until around 7 years old, he was doing a few times.
But somehow, this
ability disappeared while growing up.
Language
Getting second
language is sometimes considered as belonging with left brain.
However, while I was studying English like
when I was in school student, I could read, and I could write, but I couldn’t
speak and catch native English speaker’s conversation.
That system was using
left brain.
But since I found a “
Think In English “ ( which is one of
English language schools) when I started learning English using right side of
the brain, my English speaking, reading, writing and listening, all of them
improved.
Their system used the same way
as when babies learn their first language while growing up.
Babies and children
were all using right brain while learning language naturally, by seeing the pictures, things, people, and learning the words from
the sound of it.
That English school was
the only school which helped improving my English.
They didn’t allow students
to have habit to “translate" Japanese to
English, or opposite.
When we want to
get the language, we need to think the language in the language, instead of
translating to our first language.
When I read, write and
speak, listen to English, I don’t translate to Japanese.
So it’s faster to get
it.
To improve my present situation,
I’m recently really into developing my right hemisphere brain.
“ Imagination is more important than knowledge
“ - Albert Einstein
Of course it's best to have a good balance using the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
However many people ignore the incredible power of the right brain.
Using our right hemisphere brain and subconscious mind, I realized anyone can be a genius.
