So happy !!!
My Japanese relatives, aunt Takako and uncle Eimei sent us a gift again , and received it yesterday !
They are my mother's younger brother and his wife and my closest relatives.
They have been really nice to me since I was a little girl.
I can not say enough to thank them for so many things they did to me and my family in my life.
These are Organic Mochi ( rice cakes ) , it's kind of like a sticky rice.
A rice cake is made by pounding steamed rice into a cake.
I was telling my husband that I really want to eat Mochi around new year holidays because I haven't eaten Mochi since I moved to the USA, but Asian super market here are not selling Mochi.
So I was thinking about purchasing it in amazon store.
Also the seaweed called "Nori ", and ground sesame which I eat almost everyday.
So, I'm so so happy and grateful to receive their gift !
They don't know about my wish to eat Mochi, so I felt like it's law of attraction ?
I attracted what I wanted !
From us, we have sent them some chocolates ( made in Switzerland ) and snacks and a herb seasonings as a gift for new year's greetings at the end of 2015.
They said they really enjoyed with all the chocolates and snacks.
and my cousin was delighted to get the herb seasonings.
It was also glad to hear they all love our gift.
About Mochi,
There are many ways to eat the mochi.
We can just burn the mochi in an oven toaster.
and dip it into the soy sauce and then put the seaweed "Nori" around the mochi. We call it " Isobe Mochi ".
Or, for sweet taste,
After burned it in an oven toaster, put the burned mochi into a hot water for a few seconds.
and take it out from the hot water and put it in a mixture of Kinako powder and sugar.
It's called Abekawa Mochi. ( Kinako Mochi )
Or just put the burned mochi into a miso soup or Udon noodle soup or sweet red-bean soup.
It's all delicious !
If you like traditional Japanese sweets, you will love sweet red-bean soup.
