My favorite composers of the 19th century - Liszt, Chopin, Saint Saens, Tchaikovsky, Massenet

5 Music Virtuosos of the 19th century Franz Liszt ( 1811 - 1886) Frederic Chopin ( 1810 - 1849) Pyotr Tchaikovsky ( 1840-1893) Camille Saint- Saens, ( 1835 - 1921) Jules Massenet ( 1842 - 1912 ) Since we found this amazing site, http://tchaikovsky-research.net/ which has so many information about not only, Pyotr Tchaikovsky ,  but many other people who were around him in that generation, I’ve been even more into the 19th century ’s, my favorite composers. Tchaikovsky seems like really a perfectionist, analyzing music and many other things and people,  and there are thousands of his private letters which he wrote to a wealthy widow named Nadezdha von Meck who admired him and his music so much. He might not have imagined that his private letters to her would one day be open to public viewing in the future. I feel like becoming a gossip woman when I started reading them,  but it ’s so interesting to know, as he is one of my favorite co

Pyotr Tchaikovsky‘s life - Music genius, lady magnet, charming gentleman

Ray was flipping through the TV channels last night to see if there were any movies on , when he ran across a biography movie about the classical music composer Tchaikovsky. Recently we had been listening to his music, so we decided to watch it. We missed the very beginning of the movie, so it started from a scene showing Tchaikovsky as a young man, first time performing his Piano Concerto N1 ( which is now one of the most popular piano concertos of all time. It is also one of my favorites of his music ). After he finished playing he was criticized directly by a music critic, who called it worthless and unplayable. I was thinking  “ seriously ??? Such an incredible music, there was a person who was saying this is worthless and horrible music ?? " It reminds me of a story about when Beethoven was young, he was told by his music teacher that he had no music talent . After watching the movie , I read some bio information about Tchaikovsky online ( NWE: Peter Ilyic

Ever popular Johnny Weir

Johnny Weir is Mr. Entertainment. And the entertainment never stops. He is in the Honor of Grand Marshal in today's Pride Parade at LA , is leading the parade and over 400,000 people are expected !  Johnny Weir talks about the honor of grand marshal in Sundays pride parade Whenever I take a break from his news, when I come back there is always a lot of catching up to do. lol His twitter followers are a veritable legion, now numbering 94,829 ( as of the date June 12’ 2011) , and his followers are still increasing every day. It will soon be over 100,000. It means he is still attracting new fans (?). And also his face book has 60,208 followers. Until he started doing twitter in May’2009, the only way we could get his new information was his journal, and also Q&A, sometimes his old fan site( which disappeared now that his activity is mainly on the social net work ) and his media interviews. I was always looking forward to his journals and Q&A which were

Atlantis Myth and the Mayan Calendar

Mayan pyramid Chichen Itza _________________________________________________________________ I was writing about the mysterious Mayan Calendar and the importance they give to the date, December 21’ 2012 in one of my past posts at the link below, and at that time I didn’t take it so seriously much. http://miho-entwistle.blogspot.com/2010/09/what-is-meaning-of-date-december-21.html Thank you for visiting my blog, that post is still one of the popular views in my blog and I would like to expand some more about that topic. I feel my initial idea about it is still a strong possibility, but I also got an idea about another possibility after reading “ Conversations with God 3” by Neale Donald Walsch. There is a section in this book where the Spirit Guide or God talks about a highly advanced ancient civilization on our planet which ended up destroying itself because it did not have an equally high spiritual frequency. In other words, they couldn’t handle the technology they h

My favorite Ave Maria performances by Emanuel Sandhu, Johnny Weir

The song Ave Maria was performed by several skaters, with different singers and Johnny Weir and Emanuel Sandhu ’s Ave Maria have been the most magical performances for me so far. If I didn’t watch Sandhu’s Ave Maria, there was no other competition for Johnny. Both of their Ave Maria are breathtakingly magical which gave me goosebumps, made me tears. Their emotion, water flow graceful movements, sensitivities, lines, expression, beauty, it was so hard to find these artists and I’m so glad to find them in men’s skating. Johnny Weir and Emanuel Sandhu , these two artists are my all time favorites forever. Comparing artistry of Sandhu and Johnny Weir is like trying to compare Tschaikovsky ( Piano concerto No 1, Nutcracker ) and Saint Saens ( The Swan, Danse Macabre ) and trying to decide which is better composer. Both are just incredible. One thing I noticed Sandhu and Weir have in common is that for both of them, their main leg they use is their left leg while
