I would like to say thank you to Johnny, and David and James, Patti, Paris and also all the people who helped to make this documentary series.
This becomes my favorite TV program right now. I don’t watch TV much, and also recently I was getting less interested in movies since I haven’t got big impression for a while.
This “ Be Good Johnny Weir” not only the story of one talented skater’s life, but there are a lot of humor, plus his unique character is just fun to watch.
My favorite part of the episode #2 may be the scene he was modeling at the studio for the cover image of “ be good Johnny Weir”.
The director was laughing, because of Johnny’s humor, while filming him. I thought it’s fantastic ! I can imagine the director's feeling, and he said that he thinks Johnny will be a pop culture star.
I think not everyone can have this kind of impact on a film director.
Creative besides his artistic beautiful skating talent . His acting and posing is great.
There are many people who want to get attention in the world, and that's how super stars usually appear. But not everyone can achieve to be a star. If there is no impact even though they wish to get attention, it's not easy, I guess.
I’m also glad to see he showed behind the scene of his training with Galina team which I have been wondering.
For example why his previous choreographer Nina Petrenko and his other coach Victor Petrenko hasn’t been joining.
I know Galina is well-known as one of the most strict skating coaches in the world, but it was more than I thought, looks like she controls everything.
Johnny looked like he was in the middle between Galina and Nina. They are the real mother and daughter and had been fighting during 2008-2009 season ?
How about now ?
In the Kiss & Cry seat, Johnny and Galina looks really close , it looks to me Galina loves Johnny so much.
I also like the scene when Galina making a pomegranate juice for Johnny at
the hotel in the morning during World Championship 2008.
It was funny when she brought it to his hotel room early in the morning and woke him up.
Not sure he was happy about it though.. Lol Galina was laughing.
His quad training looked so hard and many injury, broke his bones everywhere.
It really hurt whenever you fell down and hit your body , right ?
Besides when it’s quad, the fall is dynamic.
Most of skaters who do quads has been struggling with their injury every season.
Personally, I’m not a fan of quad. If it’s done beautifully, it’ great but no skaters are doing so beautifully.
I loved Johnny’s quad ( 4+3+2 ) at practice a few years ago. But most of other skaters quads are not so artistic to see which I have no interest.
But to be a Olympics Champion, it may be required jump. Even though since 2008, when quad less Worlds champion appeared, because of the COP, any skaters can win without quad when they maximize the jump content with high level elements.
I have no problem with quad less champions. I know sports fans are not satisfied that. But.. I care more of skater’s body and health especially for my favorite skater than quad.
All I can say to him is good luck with quad.
But I won’t be disappointed if he doesn’t do quad at Olympics. Although it might add to his satisfaction.
I also loved the scene he was interviewing his custume designer, with blond wig with glasses.
He looked good in them.
Look forward to seeing next episode next Monday !
