This year, we bought something different kind of calendar for our living room.
I thought it’s kind of cute. Ray also likes it. I enjoy looking at all the hand bags in it.
Hand bags ( purses ) and shoes are always my favorite collectibles ( also watches ) , and I used to love to collect many kind of styles of purses.
Somehow, since I moved here, it’s enough to have one or two for shopping.
But seeing those purses, my collector’s personality has appeared again.
Even just looking at many kind of purse, it’s so fun.
Last year ( 2008 ) , we were decorating Johnny’s image calendar in our bedroom, and napping kittens image for our living room, and Zen image for my office.
Love Johnny's quote in it,
" I think star is my symbol. Star doesn't know how it got where it is or where it is going or even what it is. But it keeps on sparkling. That's how I like to live. No matter what, keep on shining. - Johnny Weir "
Choosing calendars every year is kind of fun to me. When I was in Japan, I rarely bought calendars for my space because while I was working for some companies, they always gave all the employees their calendars and also from their dealer companies and I didn’t have to buy them.
While I was taking the photo image of calendar, suddenly, Sayoko Yamaguchi who was always and still is my favorite fashion model, came to my mind and I started taking photo images from her book.
It's a really old book, it was written in 1983. The picture below of her eyes and her gestures, the way how she was holding the wine glass and her total poses are so sexy and artistic.
Ray also really loved this image of her, saying that her eyes in it are killer.
Too sexy !
But the photo does not show the full impact of her awesome killer eyes as well as when you see the actual image in the book. But here is the photo of it, you can still get the idea.
I bought the book when I was 20 yeas old. I was really a big fan for her at that time .
I thought she was the coolest high fashion model who has her own original style. I was also inspired by her life style and her personality , not only her as an artist. The photo below on the left, her pose looks almost like a Picaso.
And her pose on the right, is equally amazingly artistic and beautiful.
Sayoko Yamaguchi was one of the first Asian models to be chosen as a world top model and she was one of the top five high fashion models in the world at that time, and was featured in the Paris collection.
During 1983, she was called as Japanese Cleopatra in Shiseido cosmetic commercial in Japan, and I was very impressed with her looking at that time.
I was also interested in her food life. She loved Japanese traditional healthy foods, prefer fish to meat, prefer rice to bread.
She always ate rice, miso soup, burned fish, seaweed , and some simple vegetables in her breakfast every morning.
She made her own rule which is no eating after 8PM except for some vitamin pills even when she got home late after 8PM, she kept following her own rule.
According to her book, she was told to needed to change her look to be more European ( or Western ) look similar to other top models , and to change her hair style, but she declined all of these pressures and kept her original look and her trademark bob hair style. She looked like a traditional Japanese doll.
Her bob hair style had never changed since her childhood except for only the length of her hair. She used barber instead of beauty salon for her hair cut , because it was faster.
She kept her own original style, and was never influenced by trendy fashion which she felt all looked the same. She said she felt they all looked like uniforms.
Before going to sleep, she did several kind of Yoga exercises and stretches. Loved to drink mineral water every morning just after she woke up, also taking a bath in bubble bath was also her favorite time.
She did Tai chi, Yoga, Ballet and ate natural healthy food. Someone who actually met her told me that her skin looked like a young high school girl’s, and Sayoko was about 40 years old at the time he met her.
Very young healthy skin.
Cosmetics she was using was Shiseido ( maybe because she was business with the company ). So it was not too fancy and but her food life and exercise brought her great result to keep her beauty.
Unfortunately, she passed away by illness in 2007.
It’s hard to find someone who inspires me like her.
Right now, the most interesting person to me is Johnny Weir for many reasons.
This will never change. Yes !
Johnny has updated his new entry on his official site, so now I'm going to review for it.
