Crepes store

It was my husband's day off today, so we went to a crepe store called " Café Marcel ".

Actually there is another Cafe which has crepes we were interested in and we wanted to go to that place but they were closed so we went to Café Marcel which also has many 5 star reviews.

I haven't eaten crepes since I was still living in Japan, and almost forgot about it but after seeing some figure skaters who were in Japan for an ice show were tweeting and showing a photo of them with crepes, which looked so yummy.

So I was craving for crepes since then.

Café Marcel is located in University area where there are many students.

We have never been to this particular area before.

We discovered this area seems pretty safe to walk around, a University students walking area.

We found there are many pretty shops to look around.

There was no other customer in the store, maybe because it was business day around 3 PM, and the University is already summer vacation season.

I ordered Banana & strawberry Crepe.

wow, looks delicious !

My husband ordered Swedish crepe with Strawberry.

Plus ice coffee.

I gave two whipped creams to my husband because his had only one, while mine had 4 whipped creams.

However, it was too sweet for me and I could not eat everything.
So I gave about 1/4 piece to my husband.

He said his crepe looks simple, but it tasted better than mine because it was less sweet.

I think sweet is fine if it is well-balanced taste, like Swiss Chocolate.

But something was not balancing.

and also the ice coffee ,

Ray makes coffee at home every day. and we are already used to drinking
good tasting coffee so he didn't like the taste of it.

When it comes to coffee, so far, the only coffee taste in the USA we feel satisfied with is starbucks coffee, unless we go to a specialty cafe shop.

I would give three stars for this store and the crepe I ordered including the customer service.

Other reviewers said savory crepe tasted much better than sweet crepe.

So if we get an opportunity to go to this store again, I would order Chicken Pestro Spinach, Tomato with Cheddar crepe.

After that I went to a beauty salon to get my haircut.

Happy to have my new hairstyle !

Sweet Food which does not get fat - Warabi mochi

I recently love eating this sweet food that Japanese call " Warabi mochi " which is made of 0 calories food psyllium in my coffee break time. It's sweet food but I use Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener instead of sugar when I make it. Lakanto Monk Fruit sweetener is 0 calorie s and 0 glycemic and very similar taste as normal sugar. It is said it's derived from monk fruit, which looks like a small green gourd native to regions of China and Thailand. It's not artificial so it is not bad for health so I feel comfortable eating it. Warabi mochi is a food which is normally made of Kinako ( soybean flour) & sugar & warabi powder and it's one of my favorite foods. However it's high calorie foods so if I eat a lot, it's easy to gain weight. Because Warabi mochi flour is Starch and has sugar in it and is high calorie.
