Japanese breakfast menu
One of the happiest moments I feel is eating my favorite foods at home.
This is my today's brunch.
The menu is
* A bowl of plane white rice with vegetable seasonings over it.
* Two sunny-side-ups and a slice of chicken ham,
* Green asparagus,
* Seaweed called Nori, ( Thank you to my aunt Miyoko & Uncle Sakae )
* Miso soup with Daikon ( Japanese radish), Satoimo ( Japanese potato ), green onion,
The sauce I use for Nori and the main dish is soy sauce.
It's one of the Japanese breakfast menus but I rarely eat breakfast, so I often eat this menu or similar menu for my brunch.
This kind of Japanese menu never bores me ,
and it shows I'm really Japanese.
But I sometimes eat garlic toast with cheese and Tuna, and egg and salad instead of the menu.
Also in my husband's days off, we sometimes eat French toast or pancake for brunch.
Depending on our mood, sometimes we have different feeling of what to eat, so sometimes I make different menu from my husband.
My husband and I have many things in common and one of them is we both feel no problem to eat alone.
Because while eating, I want to focus for the taste of the food and also I enjoy being in my own world with my favorite music while eating.
Eating out is fun and fine, but eating at home is the most comfortable for me.
When I was single, I loved cooking for myself, and was cooking all the meals breakfast, lunch ( brought my handmade lunch box ) and dinner, almost everyday.
Not so crazy for the cooking part , but I love to eat my favorite foods so I cook by myself.
Meeting with friends is fun sometimes, but when I met my friend in one of my weekends, I didn't make an appointment for other day off and also the next weekend as well, to have my own time.
My husband loves well cooked eggs, but I love soft cooked egg.
We both don't drink any kind of tea because I have allergy for it and get asthma if I drink it, and my husband gets stomachaches.
I also have allergy for vinegar, so I always make my own salad dressing.
My husband is not crazy for salad but when he eats salad he uses only salt instead of dressing.
For Japanese foods, he doesn't like seaweed much, or raw fish , but he loves miso soup, udon, noodles and all kinds of more western style Japanese foods.
For these reasons, I often cook different menu from my husband's meal menu.
The point is always we both enjoy the meals and have a wonderful time.
Frozen ice cream bars
We recently found these Mexican frozen ice cream bars in an international super market and have been getting an addiction for it, especially their strawberry creamy bars.
In the beginning, I found a chocolate taste ice cream bar there and was buying and enjoyed eating one or two bars every weekend.
There are many kinds of flavors, which are coconuts, mango, pineapple, melon, etc..
Then my husband was getting curious and he found other flavors which are mango and strawberries and pineapples and coconut , and he also really loves them.
Both of our favorite is strawberry flavor.
It's really creamy with natural strawberries in it.
Very yummy !
In a boiling hot day and when we are thirsty, we both love eating natural peach flavor Popsicle.
I also really love chocolate flavor as well.
It makes us very happy!
