Searching and watching Youtube videos has been my daily habit.
It's so great and so convenient that I can find anything I want in it.
Recently I've been into exercise videos to shape up my body and for my health. and have been doing some exercises since about a month ago.
My husband started working at home since April and he also joined one of the exercises in his break time.
I tried several exercise videos and realized the most important thing is I can enjoy with it and can continue every day.
There are many videos which are hard work, but if I was younger it's fine but I've read about that after becoming 50s, it's better to do it as fun, and too much exercise are not good for health.
Our bodies are not the same as when we were younger, so it's good to choose exercise based on our body condition and we can continue without difficulty.
The point is having fun and can do every day.
Because it's no meaning if we can not continue it.
and so far, my favorites are boxing exercises below.
I do these Boxing exercises every morning and also at night.
It's only about 5 minutes for each video, so I like it because I can continue.
and also I do this easy step dance exercise below with my husband.
This is about 13 minutes, and it's not hard exercise, and my husband continues doing it every day.
Since we were staying at home most of the time, and we were not walking outside much recently so this is good to do it to solve the lack of exercise.
There are other exercise video I like from the same You tuber , but I always gained weight whenever I tried it, because it's said that fat is decreasing and muscle is increasing in my body by doing the exercises.
and muscle is heavy that's why the weight is gaining.
But when the muscle is increasing, our metabolism get high.
I remember that when I started taking a jazz dance class about 24 years ago in Japan, my weight was 43kg ( about 94.8 lb ).
and after 1 year from the date I started it, my weight became 48kg ( about 105.8 lb ).
But my body looked fit and looked very thin same as when I was 43 kg ( 94.8 lb ) even though I gained 5 kg ( about 11 lb ) .
So, I suppose the weight is not so important if the body looks fit and thin and healthy.
but right now I want to lose weight and make my body thinner fast, and then I want to get muscle and do not wish to gain more weight.
This is why I do this kind of light exercises.
For other exercises,
I sometimes do belly dance exercise, Yoga , stretches for my shape up.
After becoming 50 years old, it's easy to get fat around the waist and belly.
I gained about 11lb.
My weight often get ups and downs about 2 to 3 lb but it doesn't change much.
It was easy to lose weight when I was younger but as I get older, my metabolism slows down. and female hormones start decreasing. so it's easy to gain weight and difficult to lose weight.
There are also people who are becoming opposite, and started losing weight or their weight doesn't change.
My mother was very skinny after she became 35 years old, so I thought I will be the same as her, but I didn't.
She was often having stress from her work and many other things and was not eating much and was not sleeping much.
I was eating a lot but I did not gain weight until 50s, but I did not change my eating habit, then I started gaining weight.
Another reason was I stopped doing stretch exercise before going to bed.
Yoga and stretch exercise can keep our body shape up if we do every day.
So I started doing it again beside the boxing exercises.
I will continue doing it as long as possible because it's fun.
