It's been forever since my last post about Tucson Zoo.
I don't know why but sometimes I don't get the mood to write something.
and when my mood is not on to write, I just follow my feeling.
We have been doing fine and during this time, we went on a very short trip to the Marriott Star Pass Resort Hotel in December.
This year is our 15 years marriage anniversary so, for the celebration of the anniversary and Christmas we wanted to go somewhere.
My husband was lucky to win a gift card for the Star Pass resort and we are very grateful for it.
I was always curious to go to that place , it's known as the best resort hotel in Tucson, AZ.
It was a very warm clear comfortable weather , so we didn't have to bring winter coat.
The check in time was 4 pm , so we didn't have to get up early in the morning.
We left home around 2 pm because we wanted to have lunch before going to the hotel .
Loving the mountain view road.
Many cactuses !!
This hotel is huge !
Long way to the lobby from the parking lot.
There was a gorgeous scenery on the way to the lobby.
In the room, they have a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, some cosmetics.
and they ordered a small refrigerator for us, so that we could put some drinks and snack foods.
It was off season, so not many people were there and the spa and pool were closed.
There was a large slide in the pool, so it must be fun to come here in summer time.
We were walking around the hotel until dinner.
Enjoyed walking around the hotel both inside and outside.
For dinner, we chose a Mexican restaurant & bar " Salud " ,
because the meal looked delicious and the scenery there looked awesome and romantic.
It was not so cold evening so we took an outside table because of the scenery.
and there were some cozy outside fire places.
I ordered corona extra and Ray ordered heineken for drinks .
I love super cold beer and usually when I drink beer at home I put beer in the fridge for a while to make it colder and I'm used to drink that kind of cold beer.
However, that restaurant's beer was not so cold enough.
Hopefully they will change that for the future.
For meals, we ordered Nachos and Chicken Tacos.
These were very delicious and we enjoyed these meals. It sounds like a small dinner but we got very full and had no space for desert after we had the meals.
Especially we both love Nachos so much.
The nachos included several very hot jalepeno peppers. Ray was not very familiar with jalepeno peppers,so, while eating the Nachos, Ray happened to eat one of the smaller jalepeno peppers, but it was not a fully matured one so it was not a hot one.
And he said " Oh, these are delicious ! " ,
then he grabbed a large jalepeno and I was wondering " oh, he can eat hot jalepeno peppers ! " because I had a bad experience with it in the past.
but he looked really enjoying eating it, so I was amazed .
The weather outside was suddenly getting cooler so I got up to go to our hotel room to wear a warmer outfit.
When I was getting up to go to our room, Ray started having loud hiccups, and I was laughing, but thought he would be fine.
and about 10 minutes later, when I came back, he looked fine but he said while I was gone he was having problems with the hot jalepeno peppers.
He said his eyes turned all watery , hiccups, then started sneezing and then started coughing .
Seems like other customers there were looking at him and giggling.
After hearing that story, I could not stop laughing.
He was having same problem as I had before with those hot peppers. lol
It's amazing why Mexican people seem to have no problem eating such an unbelievably hot food ?
After the meal, we ordered some cocktails, Bailey's Irish Creme , Carlotini , etc..
We both really enjoyed with them. But for Bailey's Irish Creme , he ordered without ice and I ordered with ice.
and they put it in just a normal glass, so his straight Bailey's Irish Creme without ice didn't look good and pretty, as it would with a fancy glass.
Maybe better to put it in a small fancy glass ?
and the glasses did not look so clear.
Although It was a great experience to have dinner in such a romantic place where there are beautiful desert scenery with fireplaces at night.
In the next day, we had a buffet breakfast plus ordered French toast, Belgium style waffles, vegetable omelets in a different restaurant.
We were curious for that resort hotel , so it was wonderful to visit there with a short trip.
The receptionist, who was a young Chinese woman, was very kind to us and we are very grateful for her service.
Highly recommended place in Tucson!
But summer time may have more options to do many activities.
