Emanuel Sandhu’s LP at Canadian Nationals Championships 2013

Finally I got to see his long program at Canadian Nationals 2013 !    Emanuel Sandhu 2013 Canadian Nationals free program It’s really Sandhu style of skating and I really like it.  One of the greatest things about this performance is that he looks happy skating, looks relaxed.  Most of his jumps look beautifully landed.  Nerves makes skater’s bodies tight and often can not show their best , so I felt comfortable watching this.    It’s beautiful and expressive.  Nice to see his detailed pantomime again also.  I love the costume. It looks like Chinese traditional suit. It makes his perfect proportion really nice and slender.  I’m just very happy seeing his skate and his smile is wonderful!  It was much better than I expected, after 6 years of blank time, at the age of 32, he did really great !    In his short program, he landed all the jumps. It was also very nice to see him in the Exhibition.  2013 National Canadian Championships Emanuel Sandhu EX   I always l

Emanuel Sandhu is back at Canadian Nationals competition !

“ Sandhu hot on comeback trail at Skate Canada Challenge “  Read more:  http://www.leaderpost.com/sports/Sandhu+comeback+trail+Skate+Canada+Challenge/7674506story.html#ixzz2IAuEaTsg  OMG, omg, I’m really late to this news.  Why I didn’t know about it until now ??   I’m so so so happy to hear one of my favorite skaters Emanuel Sandhu is back to competition !!!  I’m satisfied with just watching him skate, and it doesn’t really matter where they will place him or his score.  And If he could be able to relax skating, showing the best he could and showing us his wonderful artistry, it will be wonderful.  His unique movements are always interesting to see, and so fascinating.  I love his pantomime, expression, beautiful lines of his movements especially when he is turning on ice and spinning, and his sensitivity.   When he was relaxed jumping, it looked quite effortless.  Also nice to hear he could qualify to compete for Canadian Nationals in Skate Canada Challenge.

Beautiful letter to Japan from Emanuel Sandhu

I found a beautiful letter from Emanuel Sandhu to Japan in his fan’s blog at the link below, http://emanuelsandhu.jugem.jp/ - ( thank you to the blog owner for sharing his letter ! ) He sent this letter below, around April 29. “ To all of my Japanese skating fans and to all of the marvelous people of Japan, As the World Championships continue, I think of you often and pray for you often. There are no words that I can say that will mitigate the hardships that you all must have and continue to endure after the tragedies of the earthquake and tsunami. I can only hope that by watching members of your country skate, in fact all the skaters, that you will be able to find the inspiration to be stronger and fight harder just like they do everyday. Skating is not only a sport but an art and art is the freedom of self-expression. You too must make the journey to meet yourselves within and learn things about yourselves and others that lie in dark places. Brin

Who are genuine artistic skaters ?

People’s views are always different especially when it comes to artistry. I really think we all are biased for our favorites based on our taste, our views, our personalities, and it also might be coming from which side of the brain is more developed , right brain or left brain. And whatever art or other things that we learn, there are always levels, whether it’s judges scoring by whatever the rules happen to be, which BTW the rules were made by people who also have their own bias and favorite type of figure skating, or it comes from laws of nature.   We can feel which pianists are playing from the heart or not, besides being able to appreciate the technical ability.  In figure skating, Genuine artistic skaters to me are Johnny Weir Emanuel Sandhu Tatiana Navka Oksana Baiul These skaters come to my mind first. The following are also genuine artistic skaters,  Stephane Lambiel Daisuke Takahashi Staviski (of Denkova/Staviski) Shen( of Shen & Zhao )

Emanuel Sandhu’s SYTYCDC audition 2009

I’m so glad to hear that Sandhu is challenging the audition for SYTYCD again this year !  And was able to watch his dance on YouTube here ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI7bIwQuM7w What an awesome beautiful dancer ! Every angle of his moves and his line are perfectly well done, technically, artistically. IMO.  And his expression is hilarious. His standing pose in the beginning reminds me of Freddie Mercury’s pose in “ another one bites the dust “ in Queen’s music video. So cool ! Sandhu has well balanced proportion and looks taller than his actual height . I think because he knows how to show his body line. And so did Freddie Mercury. One judge called him that he is a beast ( of talent ). I agree, he is like a monster of talent for dance. I really hope he will pass the audition this time. Such an amazing talented dancer.  I also loved his dance in his last audition. But when I think about SYTYCDC is for Canadia

Emanuel Sandhu

I’m still looking for Sandhu’s final audition for “ So You think You can dance “ on YouTube and haven’t seen it yet. But when I saw the top 20 dancers list , Sandhu’s name was not there. According to the article, “ After the judges had made their decisions, Emanuel Sandhu was first on stage. The judges said they debated his fate more than any other dancer as they loved his tricks and his ballet training, but in the end thought his transitions just weren't there. Even still, he was optimistic and trusted that there was something else out there for him. “ Sounds like Sandhu’s dance was not what they were looking for and was not fit with their theme. I saw the top 20 dancers who passed the audition, some parts of performances, but I was not so impressed with any of them. It reminds me of many dancers in the movie " Chorus line ". I used to like the movie , not the story but it was fun to watch many dancers in it. I watched for each dancer’s every detail of m

Emanuel Sandhu is taking audition for “ So You think you can dance Canada “ on CTV

Emanuel Sandhu is always one of my favorite artistic skater s , as well as Johnny Weir and Tatiana Navka . Since Sandhu stopped competing , I missed his skating a lot. I found his incredibly dancing skill when I saw his tango performance in 2004 worlds. He fell on most of his jumps in it, but his dancing was amazing. I thought he became a completely different person on ice and Tango’s Sandhu looked so cool. And his beautiful each detailed line of movements was so magical. I look more for whole performance than each element, I don’t only sort to watch how footwork was , spins were , jumps were , and choreography was. For competitions, to check scores, I need to watch that way, but as an entertainment, I usually don’t. I thought Sandhu and Johnny both are far above, in a class of their own in artistry because of their beautiful artistic line of movements, natural expression, with deep emotion. According to the latest Sandhu’s news, he has just passed his first audition for
