Since New Year’s Eve, we have been enjoying watching the 1950s classic TV series Twilight Zone marathon.
Twilight zone is one of our favorite TV series.
There is a Japanese version of Twilight Zone and I knew only the Japanese version until I moved to the USA and I didn’t know about the classic Twilight Zone.
I think the Japanese version got some inspiration from this original series , and I found many people might get some ideas from the classic Twilight zone for their books or cartoon books, or other movies because I’ve seen many similar situation or themes in the classic Twilight Zone .
Ray and I both love this kind of thought provoking themes and we found most of the episodes have important messages which can help in real life situations.
I found myself that I love any kind of art or performances or stories or music , films, paintings, which have thought provoking points or messages or themes to improve my life and myself.
For example, this is why I love Johnny Weir’s skating. His skating and artistry touch my heart and soul, without theory. It’s deep.
I also realized that some story lines and messages in the twilight zone are based on the “ law of attraction”.
My top favorite Twilight zone episodes I’ve ever seen so far
1. The Masks
2. A World of his own
3. Mystic Seer ( Nick of time )
4. Eye of the beholder
5. A most unusual camera
6. A Piano in the house
1. The Masks
Message - People’s outside appearance may be deceiving. Most people are hiding their true self, they are hiding behind a mask.
Also, over time, everyone’s spirit and mind tends to reflect and influence their outside appearance as well.
How important to have beautiful minds with lots of love.
A rich old man who is ill invites his relatives , his son and his daughter, his grand daughter and grand son.
Unfortunately, all they care about is the old man’s money.
I often heard that in rich people’s world, their friends and families minds are all money, money, money. People go to see them for money, not for love.
It’s kind of sad and lonely and we can not trust most people.
People can learn to feel and see the spirit of people‘s mind, whether it‘s based on light and love, or on darkness and hate.
2. A World of his own
I really love this story. The story is about a 50’s year old writer whose characters, one day, suddenly come to life.
At first he is overwhelmed by what’s happening, but slowly learns how to control his creations, and eventually, completely controls his life and reality.
He had created them by describing them in detail into his tape recorder. Which he then later wrote down.
He could make his characters appear or disappear at will, by describing them on the tape or by cutting that part of the tape which contains the described character and throwing it in the fireplace.
As the episode progresses, we discover that not only had many of this writer’s characters come to life, but his wife as well, she was also one of his characters.
And much later, while writing, he created another woman who is about 30 years old, somewhat old fashioned type. Very sweet, supportive person. But he realizes that he created his wife’s personality too strong.
At the end , his wife, who doesn’t believe any of this and thinks her husband has gone mad, throws the tape away which describes her character and creation, she throws it into the fireplace.
Suddenly his wife disappears after the tape burns up in the fire place.
It’s like a fantasy cartoon world, but the point is we are all learning to “ create our own world and own reality. “
From my experience, my imagination always became reality whenever I wrote down in my diary and had focus and had strong desire with emotion.
Writing your future in a notebook or diary has power to attract what you wrote. And later I found out many success gurus talk about the same things.
Even though my husband was already real, I attracted him to me and in that sense created my ideal husband by myself by imagining with clear details who I wanted to attract.
