When I was a teenager, I imagined that becoming famous from one's career = success = happiness.
Like getting appearances on TV, your posters are everywhere, top idol star, musician, actor/actress, model, comedian, sports player, etc.. everything which belongs with entertainment.
There was a time I thought it looked cool to be famous from career success, getting spotlight, but I was only seeing it from one side.
Then I started hearing many rumors about celebrities, the behind the scenes, people gossiping about how this or that celebrity could get that successful position, etc..
I've heard that to be successful in that world, you will need to do something you don't want to which is not related to your work.
and learned that there are some people who can - with no problem - do anything to get to the position they want, by thinking like it's a business.
But I found I'm not the person who can do something I don't want to by ignoring my inner voice, because there would be no happiness in that kind of world.
That was the first time I felt that being famous and happiness are not the same thing.
Next thing was when I saw one of the top idol lady singers ( during 1980s) " S " 's private story.
She got married with a famous actor when she was 23.
and had a baby girl a year later.
and then a few years later, she started living in NY, USA for studying English, and then later the media was catching up with news about her saying that she had an affair with a young American man, with some photos which they looked happy together.
However, at the time the news broke, it seems they already broke up and she was already back to Japan.
That American man talked about his relationship with her in detail in a Japanese interview.
and then later the man wrote a book about their private relationship with details and published it.
That American man's image became so bad because everyone thought he was using "S"'s name to earn a lot of money by telling their private relationship.
Almost no one valued what he did, however, they believed what he said and wrote and gossiped about it.
Everyone thought he did it because he was upset she left from him and broke his heart or hurt his pride.
Not sure why he did such a thing, maybe his love became hatred or he was already a sociopath type of person who likes to use people to get benefit.
According to the information I've read, there were rumors that the husband of singer "S" was cheating with another lady, and so singer " S " was feeling lonely at the time and then cheated with that American man.
The behavior of the husband to singer " S " had been something dry.
But at the end she came back to Japan and back to her husband. Later, singer " S " divorced from him but the reason why they divorced was not clearly told to public.
She had many scandals in the past, however she always survived strongly. The most recently she got third time married , also has been doing her concerts & dinner party activities.
When she was younger she had so many men fans, and many women hated her ( jealousy ? ), but now she has many ladies fans who respect her and her way of living life.
She also had troubles with her manager & assistant who knows her private life. She trusted that manager and became very close friend, but later some issues occurred , and after that manager was fired by " S ", the manager also wrote a book about "S" 's private life and published it for money.
