~ New Hair do ~ in my birthday

My birthday was coming again.

But I already received my birthday gifts a few days ago.

We are always like that for our birthdays, and also in Christmas days and Valentines days.

We felt like it’s better to request gifts of what we really want .
So, because of that, no surprise gifts since a long time ago.

Every year, when Ray asks me what do you want for your birthday ?

Always what comes my mind first is “ books “ .

This year also, I’m so happy to receive books which are very valuable to me and which I feel like priceless and want to read them forever.

Every trip I will also always bring them with me or one of them.

I’m a super book lover, and always dream to have a library room in our dream home.

I don’t know why, but surrounded by many books always makes me feel happy.

And I got a haircut, .. about 7 inches off.

I had really long hair, I felt my hair is growing fast so this time I wanted them to cut my hair more. But I don’t have very short hair.

Once there was a time I had short hair, when I was around 22 to 25 years old.

In the beginning was fine, I really loved short hair I was having, but soon I started admiring ladies who have beautiful straight long hair.

We can have short hair from long hair anytime, but we can’t have long hair from short hair quickly. I still remember my feeling of waiting for my hair to grow to have my ideal hairstyle.

Since then I always had semi long hair to long hair.

Perms also.

I have a lot of hair and my hair is thick so I had bad experience with perms.
It became like a triple amount of hair and really big and was hard to set up.

I love my new hair-do.

“ Mia & Maxx Hair Studio “ never disappoints me, I've been always satisfied with my new hair style because of them. I’ve been using this hair studio since several years ago, and it's funny, every time I go there, it's always all different beauticians. Maybe it's because they transfer to other Mia & Maxx salons in other States or other reasons.

All of the beauticians who did my hair were great and they cut trendy hair-do easily and well. And blow dry and setting up also.

Until I found that beauty studio, I have never satisfied with any of beautician’s blow dry and setting, or how they made my hair at the end.

So I always had to fix my hair later, to the way I like.
I’m always completely satisfied with this beauty salon.

Make-up,

My make-up is easy and simple,

Jojoba oil - moisture lotion - sun screen SPF110 - eye liner - natural powder ( not foundation ) - lip stick.

No more foundation. I realized that without putting on a foundation makes my facial skin looks better and natural. Foundation made me look heavy make up, and get wrinkles.

No eye shadow - I have allergy for eye shadow whenever putting it on my face.

Eye liner - One line in the top part of each eye. That’s it.

I like natural look whether make-up or non make-up.

Careless look, and heavy make-up are also not my taste.

After the haircut,

We went to our favorite Japanese restaurant in Tucson“ Sushi Oracle “ .

Agedashi Tofu (deep fried tofu with dashi sauce) for appetizer.

This is one of my favorite foods. So Yummy !!!

I usually eat Chirashi Sushi for main dish but this time, ordered their original teriyaki chicken, same as Ray.

And tekka maki ( Tuna Rolls ).

Later we ate pumpkin pie with whip cream on top at home.

Since last year, pumpkin pie has been my favorite dessert.

I gained weight since I quit smoking about 1 year and 8 month ago.
My face looks round … but healthy. Lol

Just need to be back to my best weight.

The point is getting happy feeling however we spend our special days.

I had a very happy birthday !

Sweet Food which does not get fat - Warabi mochi

I recently love eating this sweet food that Japanese call " Warabi mochi " which is made of 0 calories food psyllium in my coffee break time. It's sweet food but I use Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener instead of sugar when I make it. Lakanto Monk Fruit sweetener is 0 calorie s and 0 glycemic and very similar taste as normal sugar. It is said it's derived from monk fruit, which looks like a small green gourd native to regions of China and Thailand. It's not artificial so it is not bad for health so I feel comfortable eating it. Warabi mochi is a food which is normally made of Kinako ( soybean flour) & sugar & warabi powder and it's one of my favorite foods. However it's high calorie foods so if I eat a lot, it's easy to gain weight. Because Warabi mochi flour is Starch and has sugar in it and is high calorie. From Japanese Movie " Ame no Amsterdam (Rain in Amsterdam)" I've been into the late 1960s to 1970s generation since several years ago.
